BA (Hons) Fine Art

Jacqui's work's central theme is about memory itself where its mercurial nature is investigated in method, materials and presentation. She immerses herself in the sensation of landscapes remembered from her homeland, South Africa, in a metaphorical abstract painterly language which explores feelings of loss and longing through displacement. The concept that it is impossible to pin memory down is demonstrated in paintings without horizons which have a restless energy and are often in a state of flux. Jacqui follows an instinctive, subconscious link to places where elemental forces collide, whilst exploring the idea that identity and territory are integral to who we are.

Since qualifying with a first class BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree at Wirral Metropolitan College, (JMU accredited) in 2006, and then completing her Fellowship, Jacqui's reputation has spread rapidly as the demand for her work increases.

Her 'Watermark' series was shown in the Modern Contemporary Creatives exhibition which was a part of the Liverpool Biennial Independents 08 receiving a phenomenal sell-out success.
